Frequently Asked Questions
Is this right for me? What kind of clients do you work with?
You want a better relationship with food and body and are ready and willing to change behaviors in your life to have it! You aren’t looking for a quick fix. You understand that lasting change does not happen overnight and the real value is in slow incremental change – the kind that truly becomes a part of your life. You are able to be honest about your struggles and are open to receiving coaching, support and feedback in order to achieve a new perspective.
I’m not in Atlanta. Can I still work with you?
Yes, absolutely! Currently all work is virtual. I offer both individual and group online coaching programs and have online courses available for purchase.
All you need is an internet connection and the desire to reach your goals and have peace in your relationship with food!
What can I expect from the initial 50 minute office consultation?
We will discuss your goals and challenges and I will share my thoughts on a proposed plan of action moving forward. The program I propose will entail the combination of sessions and resources I feel will best support you. If we decide to work together, you should be prepared to make a commitment to the process.
How long will we work together and how frequently will we meet?
Change is a process. Some individuals achieve their goals in a matter of a few months, however for others this is a longer term process. I have some Eating Psychology Counseling clients that I’ve worked with for up to 2 years. For others with more specific tangible goals, the work might be 1-6 months. From my experience, the sweet spot for starting to see real traction is somewhere between the 2-3 month mark.
What is your philosophy?
I believe in each individual’s ability to change, heal and empower themselves toward the greatest version of themselves. Throughout our work together, I seek to understand your challenges and to help guide you back to the things that nurture and support your happiest and highest self.
What will I need to do?
In order for this process to be most effective for you, you will need to take an active role. This means working on the things you and I talk about both during and between sessions. Generally, the more of yourself you are willing to invest, the greater the return. This is your work, and I am here to support and guide you.
What kind of programs do you offer?
My programs incorporate a parallel approach that combines eating psychology counseling, goals coaching and a whole food eating philosophy. Have you thought or said “I know what to do… I just don’t do it!”? That’s the space we’ll dig into… the “why” and then the “how”. As far as format, all sessions are virtual. I have an online signature program available for those who prefer to work on their own, at their own pace.
Will I receive a weekly meal plan?
I do not offer a meal planning service. The value in this deep work we are doing is that we are truly changing from the inside out. Lasting change comes from the desire to care for yourself well combined with new tools and strategies and a higher level of nutrition education. You are learning how to listen to your own inner needs and then nourish yourself well. I will help you figure out what you need to do to be successful and will support you in the planning, but it will be up to you to implement your own weekly planning, meal prep and cooking.
How will we communicate?
Email, phone and text can be used for administrative purposes and scheduling issues. Our scheduled virtual sessions are the only appropriate forum to work through any content related issues, unless this has been previously discussed and agreed upon by both parties.
Do you accept insurance?
I do accept most HSA cards. I am not listed in-network for insurance, therefore all of my services are self-pay. I am happy to provide you with receipts which may be used to request reimbursement from your insurance company.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask that if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment for any reason, you do so with at least 48 hours notice. Payment will be expected in full for sessions cancelled without 48 hours notice.
